Cool Moon Ice Cream is a locally owned business focused on producing and serving top quality, all-natural ice cream, sorbet, and ice cream products utilizing superior ingredients. The mission for making Cool Moon a success lies at the intersection of three incontrovertible truths:

Cool Moon is looking for enthusiastic individuals with supreme customer service skills, to make the experience and products in our retail shop as fun and cool as is humanly possible. Previous food and/or beverage-related customer service experience is a plus, and willingness to work as part of the team is necessary.

Hours/Pay
This is an hourly position at competitive rates for this kind of work. Rates dependant on your experience.
Part or full time positions working 5-8 hour shifts, combination day and evening, as required to round-out staff coverage for open hours: noon-11:00 PM (11:30 PM in summer).
Your availability from May (or when school get out) through September 3, 2012 is of critical importance
Practical Job Requirements
- This is an active, physical job—most time is spent on ones feet
- Requires ability to lift 10-20 pounds
- Requires frequently accessing the walk-in freezer
- Requires having (or obtaining) a Multnomah County Food Handlers Card
- Requires being honest and dependable
- Requires commitment to reliably transporting oneself to/from our Pearl District location
Areas of Responsibility
Face of the Moon staff responsibilities center on preparing and serving Cool Moons ice cream products (scoops, cones, milkshakes, floats, sundaes, etc.) and coffee drinks. The retail staff IS Cool Moonxs public face, so being professional, comfortable, helpful and cheerful working with the wide variety of customers we attract is the core of the job. Willingness to work cooperatively with your compatriots is also a critical aspect of this position. Duties include the following, but may evolve over time:
- Stocking retail service bar
- Learning to make all products on the Cool Moon menu including ice cream related items and coffee.
- Helping customers by providing samples, information and sage advice
- Cash handling
- Dishwashing, CLEAN UP, and generally keeping the Moon as pristine and clean as its shining face suggests!
- Working and communicating constructively and effectively with store-owner/manager and other retail staff, through daily retail operations, is critical to this job.
